May Games with Gold Announced

Make Room for Three Great Games in May

It’s not quite time for summer vacation, but May is a time for sunny days, warm weather, and plenty of great gaming courtesy of Games with Gold. In May, Games with Gold is adding CastleStorm: Definitive Edition, an awesome tower-defense brawler mashup title, for free, as well as extending Pool Nation in Games with Gold for another month on Xbox One. On the Xbox 360 front, two great games are coming free in May: Mafia II, a third-person action game that immerses players in the dark and unforgiving world of the Mafia in the 1940’s and 50’s, and F1 2013, a realistic, open-wheel racing sim. As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program.

• CastleStorm: Definitive Edition ($14.99) Available from May 1-31 on Xbox One

• Mafia II ($19.99) Available from May 1-15 on Xbox 360

• F1 2013 ($49.99) Available from May 16-31 on Xbox 360

On Xbox One, CastleStorm: Definitive Edition is a genre mash-up that combines medieval warfare with 2D physics-based destruction! Prepare to be challenged (in a good way) to manage a lot of battlefield elements at one time by controlling the battle in real-time, bombarding your enemy’s battlements with ballista-projected artillery, managing a fearsome ground attack, and casting powerful spells in epic conflict between Knights and Viking warriors! CastleStorm: Definitive Edition features a story-driven single-player campaign, a custom castle editor, online multiplayer and co-op modes, and more. Building castles and knocking them down has never been so much fun! In addition to the original CastleStorm campaign, the Definitive Edition includes two expansions, “From Outcast to Savior” and “The Warrior Queen” for the most complete CastleStorm package available.

Over on the Xbox 360, Xbox Live Gold members get treated first to Mafia II, which puts you in the shoes of Vito Scaletta, an Italian immigrant to America who finds himself wrapped up in an increasingly complex series of criminal plots in post-World War II America. As Vito, you’ll drive period cars all around Empire Bay, based on a pastiche of America’s biggest burgs, and blast your way through a variety of challenges, from bank robberies to ambushing rival gangs to sweet-talking your favorite molls. This is an enormous game with a lush, evocative narrative, and plenty of excellent writing and voice-acting to get you involved in the characters and the time period.

But when you feel like dropping out of the 1950s and into the cockpit of a more modern machine, you’ve got F1 2013 coming at the end of May on Xbox 360, which features all the cars, drivers and circuits from the 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship plus all-new classic content from the 1980s. If getting behind the wheel of the most sophisticated automobiles on the planet is your thing, then F1 2013 has you covered. Praised for its realism and its presentation, this game is an absolute must have for racing fans through Games with Gold, so don’t hesitate to press that download button when it comes up later in the month!

May is a great month, and Games with Gold is just trying to make it even better. With so many great titles coming at you for free, it’s pretty hard not to smile, after all. Check out the full details on our Games with Gold program, and make sure you get in on the action while you can!

June Games with Gold Announced

June Brings a New Batch of Games with Gold

Summer is upon us, and brings with it more free games courtesy of Xbox Live Gold! Xbox One gamers get the epic tactical strategy game Massive Chalice, from prolific developer Double Fine Productions. They also get Pool Nation FX extended for another month. Xbox 360 players get the rip-roaringly wonderful Just Cause 2, an open-world, stunt-action game that gives new meaning to the term “over the top.” They also get Thief, the recent reboot of the classic action-stealth series, which challenges you to be both subtle and clever. As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program.

• Massive Chalice ($19.99) Available from June 1-30 on Xbox One

• Pool Nation FX ($13.99) Available from June 1-30 on Xbox One

• Just Cause 2 ($14.99) vailable from June 1-15 on Xbox 360

• Thief ($29.99) Available from June 16-30 on Xbox 360

First up, for Xbox One, we have the all-new Massive Chalice, from fan-favorite developer Double Fine Productions. An early Kickstarter success, Massive Chalice is a tactical strategy game set in an epic fantasy world. You step into the shoes of the Immortal Ruler, and your goal is to defeat a mysterious enemy known as the Cadence, in a war that will apparently last 300 years. Yes, that’s a pretty freakin’ long time, but you’ve got plenty of troops to command, marriages to forge, and bloodlines to uphold. An immortal’s gotta keep their multi-generation war machine fit and fresh, after all!

For Xbox 360, June sees the addition of Just Cause 2 to the lineup, which means players should prepare for oodles of acrobatic insanity. Equipped with a grappling hook, a bevy of weapons, as protagonist Rico Rodriguez you’re set loose on the fictional island nation of Panau in Southeast Asia to find and kill your one time friend and mentor. To accomplish that you’ll have to cause chaos and destruction, jump parachute-less from planes, take on entire armies single-handed, and disarm cruise missiles that are in-flight... and that’s if you stick to the story missions. In between you’re free to roam around the huge 400 square miles of rugged terrain with hundreds of weapons and vehicles to wreak havoc or just enjoy the view… right.

Games with Gold also provides a sneakier option in Thief, 2014’s first-person action-stealth caper. Step into the silent shoes of Garrett, a dark and solitary thief with an unrivalled set of skills. The most challenging heists, the most inaccessible loot and the best kept secrets: nothing is out of your reach. Explore the sick and troubled City, from its shady back alleys to the heights of its rooftops. Sneak through the streets, infiltrate heavily-guarded mansions and lurk in every dark corner… unnoticed and unsanctioned. Use Garrett’s arsenal to take down guards silently with your blackjack, use multiple arrow types to manipulate your environment and the enemies within them or use your newly acquired focus abilities to increase the effectiveness of your thieving skills. What kind of Master Thief will you be?

Everyone gets an awesome game to play in June with Games with Gold. Check out the full details on our Check out the full details on our Games with Gold program, and make sure you get in on the action while you can!

July Games With Gold Announced, Now Two Xbox One Games Per Month

Xbox Live Gold Members Get Even More With Two New Games Every Month on Xbox One

This July represents two full years since we began giving Xbox Live Gold members access to amazing games to play with your friends. As a special thank you to our members and all Xbox fans, we’re announcing that starting in July, Gold members get more with two new Games with Gold every month on Xbox One! Each month Gold members will enjoy four new free games; two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360; On Xbox One enjoy a new game on the 1st and 16th of every month, each available to download for a full month. There are no changes on Xbox 360 and games will be available to download from the 1st to 15th and from the 16th to end of the month. Being an Xbox gamer keeps getting better. Thank you for being part of the Xbox community and remember to come to the Gold members’ area on the 1st and 16th to get your awesome games and build your collection.

To start things off with a huge bang: July 2015 will see the release of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag via Games with Gold for Xbox One, for the entire month. This critically-acclaimed, swashbuckling adventure set during the Golden Age of Pirates puts players in the shoes boots of Edward Kenway, a pirate captain trained by Assassins. Gamers sail the high seas in the dreaded Jackdaw in search of adventure and treasure while embroiled in the ancient war between Assassins and Templars. assassin and pirate, as he sails the seas – exploring, taking prizes, and discovering the secrets of ancient civilizations. Also for Xbox One, you will see So Many Me, a charming puzzle-platformer starring Filo and his band of misfit clones, who must use their wits to overcome devious traps and a slew of evil minions.

Xbox 360 gamers will be treated to equally great titles: the incredibly addictive tower-defense extravaganza Plants vs. Zombies and the iconic third-person shooter Gears of War 3, both classics of their respective genres. As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program.

• Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag ($29.99) Available from July 1-31 on Xbox One

• So Many Me ($14.99) Available from July 16-August 15 on Xbox One

• Plants vs. Zombies ($14.99) Available from July 1-15 on Xbox 360

• Gears of War 3 ($19.99) Available from July 16-31 on Xbox 360

While ship-to-ship combat was a small part of the action in Assassin’s Creed III, it was one of the most popular features in that game, and caused such huge fan c[禁止售卖商品] that Ubisoft was met with thunderous acclaim when it announced that Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag would feature it heavily. But Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag goes far beyond exciting naval battles. The massive game world hides bustling villages, dank grottoes, dense jungles, and buried treasures – all teeming with interesting things to do, enemies to beat, and stories to uncover. Set within the milieu of the Assassin’s Creed universe, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag advances the storyline, but does plenty to catch newcomers up-to-speed quickly and easily, too. It’s got action, mystery, and a whole lot of sea shanties. What more could you ask for?

In the all-new puzzle-focused platformer So Many Me, blob-shaped clones with different abilities take on an ancient, evil by leveraging their ever-so-slightly different mutations. This game is about thinking laterally, looking cute, and asking yourself the key existential questions: Who are you? Why are there so many of me? And how can I get more of these sweet costumes? You get dozens of levels, hundreds of puzzles, thousands of ways to solve them. You’ll need to have good thumbstick skills and a sharp mind to take this one down!

We’re sure you’ve already heard of the original Plants vs. Zombies by PopCap Games. It’s only the multi-award-winning tower defense game to beat all tower defense games. The amazing title pretty much says it all: A bunch of not-too-frightening zombies are attacking a house, and that house has a garden in front of it. In that garden, you can plant a variety of different flowers, veggies, trees, nuts, you name it. The point is, they all have different powers, and they all really hate zombies. So plan correctly, use your limited resources to stop those pesky zombies from reaching your back door, and learn a thing or two about green thumbs while you’re at it.

Finally in July, Games with Gold is bringing Gears of War 3 to the Xbox 360. One of the best-reviewed action games of its time, and one of the most beloved shooters ever, Gears of War 3 puts you back in the boots of Marcus Fenix. He and his comrades have retreated to the relative safety of a helicopter carrier following an invasion by the Lambent, a new foe that mankind must face down after their attempts to destroy the Locust Horde. Marcus and his squad mates must use cover, crack shooting, and plenty of willpower to overcome near-impossible odds and secure a future for mankind in this white-knuckle thrill-ride of a game.

It’s been two years and we hope you’ve enjoyed playing all the amazing game as much as we have. We look forward to many more games to share with the Xbox community. Check out the full details on our Games with Gold program, and make sure you get in on the action while you can!
