我们是新加坡教育部注册的学校，学生完成课程后，出席率达到75%，通过考试合格，就可以获得英语文凭。

10，dark 多形容心情和环境

The park is dark today because there is no moon.

例如He has dark thoughts. dark thoughts. 这里指evil thoughts。

blackout 停电，也可以指lose consciousness。

例如He blackout for almost a minute. After the accident, he could remember what happened.

blackout也有涂黑遮掩的意思，例如The date on the letter had been blacked out.
black mark besides one's name. 指的是sth. negative associated with the person. Oops, I made the same mistake again. I’ve got another black mark beside my name now.

This trip has certainly broadened my horizons.
此次旅行确实让我大开眼界。
注释：
1. 我们一般比较了解horizon作为“地平线”的用法，而某人的“地平线”呢？
我们可以联想一下，把这看做一个人目所能及的界限。站得越高看得越远，界限也就越宽广，someone's horizons也就是某人的“见识，眼界”。如果某事已经on the horizon了，也就是你已经能看到、预见到了，即指这件事已“初露端倪，即将发生”。我们常说的“希望的曙光”也可以用这个短语来表示，即 glimmers of hope on the horizon。
2. broaden someone's horizons即指“开阔眼界”，也可以用widen、expand来替换。我们还常用到broaden someone's mind，表示“开阔心胸”。这两个词组的区别在于，broaden someone's horizons强调增长见识、丰富经验，而broaden someone's mind强调增强某人的接受能力，让人能够更乐意接受他人的信仰和习俗。
Broaden/widen/expand somebody's horizons means to increase the range of things that someone knows about, has experienced, or is able to do.

注释：
1. put something into effect表示“实施（计划），实现（想法）”，也可以用bring和carry来替换。
If you put, bring, or carry a plan or idea into effect, you cause it to happen in practice.
2. 和这个短语很类似的还有take effect和come into effect。这几个短语都可翻作“生效”，区别在于，put/bring/carry into effect可用于被动语态；take effect和come into effect强调一种法律效力，不能用于被动语态。take effect还可指“见效，开始起作用”。
If a law or policy takes effect or comes into effect at a particular time, it officially begins to apply or be valid from that time. If it remains in effect, it still applies or is still valid.

不要将胶卷暴露在阳光下。

注释：
1. expose to指“暴露，显露”。现在我们拍照比较常用手机、数码相机等，使用过胶卷相机的贝友应该知道，如果胶卷没有收回胶卷盒，而是直接暴露在了阳光下，胶卷就会曝光。film除了“电影”，还可指“胶卷”。
To expose something that is usually hidden means to uncover it so that it can be seen.

2. be exposed to表示“使暴露于，使遭受”，比如某种险境或不快。如果后接的是某种想法或情绪，则指“使受……的影响、熏陶，使接触”。
If someone is exposed to something dangerous or unpleasant, they are put in a situation in which it might affect them.
If someone is exposed to an idea or feeling, usually a new one, they are given experience of it, or introduced to it.
