Sony announces E3 2017 live stream plans

Sony Interactive Entertainment America has announced live stream plans for its E3 2017 showcase.

This year, Sony is planning four days of “new game demos, developer interviews, and new trailers” live streamed straight from the E3 2017 show floor. It is preparing more than 15 hours of live content across “dozens of games” on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR.

You’ll be able to watch everything at live.playstation.com. There, you’ll also be able to complete “quests” to unlock rewards, as well as browse collections of new trailers, developer interviews, and more. The entire schedule will also be live streamed on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.

Sony also confirmed that its PlayStation E3 Experience will return this year, allowing fans across the United States, Canada, and South America to visit a local cinema to watch Sony’s E3 2017 press conference on the big screen. Further details will be announcing in the coming weeks.

The publisher is planning closed-door presentations, exclusive interviews, and hands-on demos.

Vampyr (DontNod): 45 minutes of never-before-seen gameplay.
A Plague Tale: Innocence (Asobo): A 15 minutes gameplay walkthrough with developer commentary.
Call of Cthulhu (Cyanide): A gameplay walkthrough with developer commentary.
More information on the following titles will be revealed in face-to-face interview sessions with the developers:

PlayStation E3 Experience 2017 announced



Sony Interactive Entertainment America has announced plans for its PlayStation E3 movie theater experience this year. On June 12, over 85 theaters across the United States, Canada, and Latin America will broadcast Sony’s E3 2017 press conference.

Attendees will take home an exclusive poster and #76 from the PlayStation Collectable Card series.

Tickets will be available free of charge at PlayStation.com starting May 30 at 10:00 a.m. PT while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis. Sony notes that you should arrive early if you get a ticket, as receiving a ticket does not guarantee you a seat. You must be 17 years of age or older to attend.

Pain developer rebrands as narrative-driven Deck Nine, to reveal new entry in acclaimed franchise at E3 2017



Idol Minds, developer of the PlayStation 3 title Pain, has rebranded as Deck Nine Games as the result of a shift in direction to focus on the creation of narrative-driven titles, and are “deep in development” on a new addition to a “critically acclaimed franchise” from a “leading AAA video game publisher,” more information on which will be revealed at E3 2017, the company announced.

Deck Nine has spent the past three years on the development of a toolset called “StoryForge,” which “provides unparalleled freedom” for Deck Nine’s writers, directors, and artists to tell stories.

“With the creation of our new, proprietary toolset StoryForge and the shift in studio focus, we are removing the shackles from our creative team and bringing together our two passions; meaningful storytelling and rich gameplay,” said Deck Nine vice president Jeff Litchford. “We’ve invested heavily in our staff of incredibly talented developers and in creating some truly remarkable tools. Our game will be announced at E3 this year where you’ll be able to see our efforts for yourself.”

Deck Nine president and CTO Mark Lyons added, “The studio has been focused on the creation of StoryForge for the last three years. We built StoryForge to give our writers, directors and cinematic artists and give them the tools they need to make deep, interactive, great looking games. We can’t wait to show what we have created with it.”

XSEED Games announces E3 2017 lineup



XSEED Games has announced the lineup of games it is presenting at E3 2017, which runs from June 13 to 15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Among its lineup is the announcement that Zwei II Plus, the 3D action RPG from Falcom released for PC in Japan in 2009, is coming west this summer as Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection.

The company also announced that Senran Kagura series producer Kenichiro Takaki will make his first-ever American fan appearance at E3 2017 on June 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT. XSEED Games will also be selling games and merchandise from their online store at their booth for the entirety of the show.

“I’m very much looking forward to meeting fans of my work at E3,” said Kenichiro Takaki, Senran Kagura producer at Honey∞Parade Games. “I never thought that the series would leave Japan when I created Senran Kagura, but now that it has gained fans worldwide, I want to meet them and am so happy that Marvelous and E3 has allowed me to do just that.”

　　今日 Bethesda 公布了 E3 发布会的预热宣传片。根据官方公布的消息显示，Bethesda 的 E3 展前发布会将会在 6 月 11 日晚21点（大马时间 6 月 12 日中午 12 点）举行。

　　今年也是 bethesda 连续第三年在 E3 召开展前发布会，此前很多人曾以为 bethesda 因为《辐射 4》（Fallout 4）的发售只会在 2015 年召开发布会，但在 2016 年 bethesda 仍然召开了发布会，并带来了《羞辱 2》（Dishonered 2）和《掠食》（Prey）等作品。而目前 bethesda 已经成为一个像育碧和 EA 一样重要的第三方游戏发行商，所以今年继续召开发布会也成为了必然。

　　同时 Shawn Layden 认为日本游戏的回归对于索尼来说也是非常重要的，所以今年的E3上也会有众多重磅的相关内容公开。

Sony Interactive Entertainment America president and CEO Shawn Layden is teasing “some big announcements” for Japanese games at E3 2017.

Speaking to Time, Layden said that Japanese publishers are coming back to console, citing recent releases like Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Nioh, NieR: Automata, Persona 5, and Final Fantasy XV as examples.

“That’s super important for us,” Layden said. “I think a lot of Japanese developers lost their way chasing the mobile games yen, if you will, but they’re coming back to console in a major way. And speaking of, we’ll have some big announcements at E3 in that precise vein.”

There has been much speculation online about the potential announcement of a Bloodborne sequel. When asked by Glixel whether there will be any word of Sony partnering with From Software on a Bloodborne sequel at E3 2017 (as well as whether there will be any news on what [粗俗词语过滤-#0003]er Punch is working on), Layden said, “You can ask,” but wouldn’t say anything further.

In other news, Layden confirmed to Time that Sony’s E3 2017 pres conference this year will follow the same format as last year, being less of a press conference and more of a software showcase. “The crowd will only have to suffer I think in aggregate 90 seconds of me,” he joked. “And in the middle will be all the games.”
