The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals Shining Resonance Refrain for PlayStation 4. It will launch on March 29, 2018 in Japan in standard and “Premium Fan Box” limited editions.
Shining Resonance Refrain is a remastered version of Shining Resonance, which was released for PlayStation 3 in Japan in December 2014. It will feature various additional elements and enhanced graphics.
Weekly Famitsu has an introduction of the game’s new elements, including a “Refrain Mode” that features an “if” story.

Shining Resonance Re:frain opening movie, first details and screenshots
Sega has released the opening movie, and first official details and screenshots of its newly announced Shining Resonance Re:frain for PlayStation 4.
The remastered version of the 2014-released PlayStation 3 title Shining Resonance includes enhanced graphics, additional elements such as the new “Refrain Mode” and various adjustments, and more than 150 pieces of downloadable content.

The 2014-released, well-received gem of a fantasy RPG Shining Resonance finally appears on PlayStation 4! Enjoy the game with beautiful visuals in full high-definition and 60 frames per second. There is also a new theme song, “Towairo no Aria” sung by Kirika (voiced by Saori Hayami) and Sonia (voiced by Asami Seto).

■ What is Shining Resonance?
Shining Resonance is a fantasy RPG released for PlayStation 3 in December 2014 that depicts a battle over the power of a lost dragon, with the protagonist Yuma being a young man who possesses the forms of both a human and dragon.
Fighting against the Imperial army, dragon knight princess, and a dragon slayer aiming for the power possessed by Yuma are the “Dragoners,” who wield instruments called “Harmonics” as weapons that play magical music. Changing the power of the dragon into magical songs, the Dragoners will confront powerful enemies alongside Yuma.
■ The Newly Added “Refrain Mode”
In addition to “Original Mode,” through which you can experience the story from the PlayStation 3 version of Shining Resonance in full high-definition at 60 frames per second, a new “Refrain Mode” has been added, which depicts a what-if story with Excela Noa Aura and Jenius Aeon, who did not become party members in the main story.

This theme song is the new opening song by Elements Garden, who also made the music from the original version. Of course, “Niji no Senritsu,” the theme song from the original version, is also included at higher resolution.
■ Even More Enhancements
In response to feedback from the original version, Shining Resonance Re:frain adds even further enhancements that make the game easier to play.
I Can’t Defeat Trishula at the End of Chapter 1!
Trishula is the last boss of the first chapter, who appears alongside Excela. Although it can be defeated by mastering the use of Guard Breaks, many players were not accustomed to the action since it was only the beginning of the game, and the boss battle became a high hurdle to overcome.
In Shining Resonance Re:frain, the difficulty level of the battle has been adjusted so that Trishula can be defeated smoothly through normal play, and more quickly through the use of Guard Breaks.
For Users Who Did Not Train Agnam Bulletheart and Lesty Sera Alma
At a certain point, the party will split into two groups. Many users who did not train Agnum and Lesty by that point faced difficulty defeating the boss. The game has been adjusted so that you can restart from before the event, even if you lose the battle.
Rinna Mayfield’s Tendency to Charge at the Enemy Without Using Force
Although Rinna Mayfield specializes in the use of Force as an elementalist, she would often attack at close range, leading people to tearfully put her in the reserve party. In Shining Resonance Re:frain, Rinna’s AI has been readjusted, so you can now add her to the party with peace of mind.
Request Rewards and Clear Status
When receiving a request, the window will display the rewards for clearing the request, as well as whether or not the quest has been cleared. Polish has been applied to make clearing all of the quests in the city of Marga, as well as side activities, easier to play.
Function to Turn Fromage Off
Fromage is the mascot character that accompanies Rinna. D-Tune Battle System
Real-time action battles full of exhilaration. Freely control one of the characters in your party in high-action battles where each character uses unique special attacks, powerful moves, and magic based on combo attacks.
Transform
The protagonist Yuma possesses the mighty power to transform into a Dragon at any time during battle. However, Yuma cannot control his power beyond a certain limit, and may end up “rampaging.” It is important to master the power of the dragon as not to rampage.
Rune Songs
By singing “Rune Songs,” Kirika can change into various costumes suited to each song. When you change costumes, you can continue fighting with the new costume for the duration of the battle.
B.A.N.D. Performance
In order to use Rune Songs, you must first activate the “B.A.N.D.” battle system. And in order to activate the B.A.N.D. system, you must first build up the “BPM Gauge.” The BPM Gauge stocks a maximum of three bars and accumulates each time you land an attack, such as standard and break attacks. You can choose the “center” of the B.A.N.D. from among your party members. Even when performing the same Rune Song, you can manifest various effects depending on which character is chosen as the center.
Kizuna Diagram
A character’s “Personality” represents their individuality and traits. The “Kizuna Diagram” is a visualization of your party members’ “Kizuna,” which manifests through their Personality. The longer the time a Kizuna is connected, the stronger it becomes.
Resonance
During battle, a “Resonance” may randomly occur with another party member. Depending on the Kizuna that connects the two characters and their Personality, the character that activated the Resonance will perform an attack or support action with the player.

Invisible Blade
A high-speed swinging slash attack that slices up nearby enemies. To the untrained eye, it appears only to be a single swing.
Immortal Body
