Hi everyone! When we announced Hardware: Rivals recently, we mentioned that we were going to be running a Beta in the near future. Well, I’m pleased to announce that the Hardware: Rivals Beta will be launching exclusively to PlayStation Plus subscribers worldwide on September 30th.
In case you missed our previous post, Hardware: Rivals is an arcade-style, vehicle combat game where you can get behind the wheel of a Tank or Fast Attack Vehicle, load up with devastating weapons, and hunt down and destroy your opponents. Check out the trailer to get an idea of what you can expect in the Beta.
Anyone with an active PlayStation Plus subscription is eligible to take part, and you can download the game from the Plus section of PlayStation Store.
During the Beta we’ll be letting in batches of players on a first-come-first-served basis. When you launch the game, you’ll automatically be granted a Beta key if one is available, and can start playing right away.
If all of the keys in the current batch have been taken, you’ll have to wait until a new batch is released. Don’t worry though, we’ll be releasing new keys regularly throughout the Beta, so keep an eye on the Official Forums for updates.
Everyone who gets a beta key in-game will also able to invite a friend to join them, so think carefully about who you want backing you up!
Finally, anyone who participated in our Closed Beta already has a beta key waiting for them as a little thank you, so come and check out what’s new.
The game is still deep in development so your participation and feedback is incredibly important to us. We have a dedicated Beta forum where you can learn more about the game, leave feedback, and get the latest updates from the dev team. If you have any suggestions, comments or find any issues, then please let us know!
In the meantime, thank you all for your continued interest and we hope to see you on the battlefield soon!

PlayStation Plus in October: Broken Age, Super Meat Boy, Unmechanical, more
The summer is over and the nights are drawing in but on the bright side that means we can spend more time losing ourselves in the world of videogames, with a fresh batch of PlayStation Plus games on their way to your system of choice.
Take note that as of the 6th October we will be removing Driveclub PS Plus Edition from the Monthly Games catalogue so if you haven’t had a chance to download it yet make sure your grab it before it disappears.
Without further ado, here are the games coming your way on 6th October.
Broken Age (PS4/PS Vita)
The first graphic adventure by Grim Fandango creator Tim Schafer in 16 years, featuring beautifully hand-painted 2D worlds and an all-star vocal cast, including Elijah Wood, and Jennifer Hale.
Broken Age is a timeless coming-of-age story that follows, Vella Tartine and Shay Volta – two teenagers in strangely similar situations, but radically different worlds. You can freely switch between the characters and their individual stories, helping them take control of their own lives, and dealing with the unexpected adventures that follow.
Super Meat Boy (PS4/PS Vita)
Team Meat’s fiendishly brilliant twitch platformer puts you in the shoes of Meat Boy, a red, cube-shaped character, as he attempts to rescue his girlfriend, Bandage Girl, from the game’s antagonist Dr. Fetus.
Across more than 300 levels, you must attempt to reach the end of each level, while avoiding crumbling blocks, deadly saw blades, and various other fatal obstacles. The core gameplay requires fine control and split-second timing – prepare yourself for a true test of your gaming skills!
Unmechanical Extended (PS4/PS3)
Set in a fantastic world of flesh, rock and steel, Unmechanical follows a lone robot trapped in an underground complex. A handsome adventure game that combines tricky puzzle-solving, alluring exploration and engrossing atmosphere, it’s easy to pick up and play, but the challenges will truly test your logic, memory and wits.
Also joining PS Plus this month is light-hearted co-op platformer Chariot (PS3 only), wacky side-scroller Kung Fu Rabbit (PS Vita and PS3), and rhythm-based martial arts fighter Kickbeat (PS Vita and PS3).
Not a PlayStation Plus member? Then join today from just £5.49/

Rocket League 'Back to the Future' Car Pack Announced
《火箭联盟》将推出“回到未来”DLC 超高还原度
Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads… But we do need a pitch!
Starting October 21, 2015 — the same day that Marty McFly traveled to in Back to the Future, Part II — The world-famous DeLorean Time Machine will officially appear as a playable Battle-Car in Rocket League!
Truth be told, we used to fantasize and joke about having the DeLorean Time Machine in our game months before it even came out. We were all such huge Back to the Future fans here at Psyonix, that it was one of the few “Holy Grails” we had hoped for besides having a hit game. The fact that we’re getting both of those “best-case scenarios” in the same year is an amazing accomplishment for us, they’re things we’ll never forget!
Hopefully you’ll never forget your time with the DeLorean Time Machine either, as we’ve worked meticulously to recreate its look, feel, and folding jet-wheels just as they appeared in the original motion picture trilogy. Best of all, it’s a heck of a lot of fun to play with — and comes complete with its signature “Burnt Rubber” Rocket Trail to boot!
Available in the “Back to the Future Car Pack,” the DeLorean Time Machine will retail for $1.99 USD or its regional equivalent starting October 21!

Volume: Coda free PlayStation VR expansion announced
Introducing Volume: Coda, Free Expansion for PlayStation VR
Hi, Mike Bithell here. It’s been two months since the launch of Volume on PlayStation and — thanks to your overwhelming support of the game — I’m happy to announce an expansion for Volume coming first to PlayStation VR at launch — Volume: Coda.
Volume: Coda picks up after the events of the core game. I’ll avoid spoilers here, but you’ll play as a new character, brought in as a last resort by the villains hurt most by Locksley’s revolution. The new campaign features 30 new levels, a new cast of voice actors adding new characters to the story, and a new VR setting as players take on the role of The Troubleshooter.
Volume: Coda is a free expansion to Volume. When the PlayStation VR platform launches next year (Nope, they won’t tell me when either), you’ll be able to play the Coda expansion and Volume’s core campaign in VR. You’ll also have access to all the user generated levels and, of course, the curated Staff Picks section where we highlight the best levels designed by the community.
By the time you read this, the PS4 version of Volume will be patched in all available regions with the Checkpoints Update. The original design of Volume was heavily sided to speedrunners. The Checkpoints Update has added new modes and leaderboards for players seeking pure stealth or simply a more challenging experience. Now the different communities on PlayStation can compete against similar players on their own custom leaderboards.
Where’s Volume for Vita? Well, it’s still happening and the game remains cross buy for PS4. We’ve hit some roadblocks, which slowed us down. Rushing out a weak port wasn’t an option, and I’m proud of what the team have managed to squeeze into that awesome little platform. Oh, and the Checkpoints Update is also absolutely included in the Vita version. Cannot wait for you folks to be able to check it out, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be too much of a wait.
Oh, and one more thing… in celebration of the Checkpoints Update, Volume is on sale for PS4 at 30% off through November 4th.
That was a lot of ground to cover. tl;dr: the Vita version of Volume is still coming and is still cross buy, PS4 now has the Checkpoints Update and more leaderboards, Volume is on sale, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about Volume: Coda leading up to the launch of PlayStation VR next year.

Open-world game 'Boundless' coming to PS4
Hello, PlayStation! Ben and James from Wonderstruck here, and we’re really (Really!) excited to announce that our open-world sandbox universe Boundless is coming to PS4.
Boundless is a super ambitious PS4 and PC cross-platform game where everyone (Yes, everyone!) plays together in a single online universe. Boundless is a big, open-ended game, and the best way to explain why it’s cool is to tell you what you might do, because it’s your story...
Your Homeworld and Beyond
Your homeworld in Boundless looks and feels unique, procedurally generated to look like no other. You don’t like it? Hey, acid rain can be a serious drag. No worries! Build a Portal and instantly step into another world in the Boundless universe. Ah, a beautiful pistachio-colored, livestock-rich nirvana — much better for a farmer like you.
The universe is huge and disparate. When you open a Portal to a new world you never know what you’ll get — sometimes you’ll thrive, sometimes you’ll have to fight to survive.
Team Up, or Live Alone
When you find that world you really like (you know, the one with that amazing waterfall), why not make if your official home and claim some land using a Beacon? Any land you claim will become yours, and yours alone to change.
That is, of course, unless you want some neighbors, in which case invite your friends and form a guild. Share land, resources, build amazing things, and go on some adventures together. Compete with other guilds and become the most loved, or feared, group in the universe.
The Apex Challenge
Search each new world to discover the location of its ancient Titan. Once activated, these huge sentient fortresses menacingly stalk the landscape searching for anything they perceive as a threat. These apex predators are filled with traps and swarming with deadly Protectors.
Attempted alone, your only hope is to explore, survive, and escape with a handful of valuable resources. If you’re feeling brave, call together all the citizens of your adopted world and attempt the impossible — defeat the Titan.
A Bruising Physical Sandbox
Boundless is a physical sandbox, where you can grapple up to inaccessible mountain ledges and slide down ice paths into the deepest caves. Harvest Titan’s mechanical guts and repurpose them to make your own floating airships and ingenious contraptions. Fullfill your lifelong dream of becoming a space pirate! It’s the ultimate sandbox, create whatever you can dream of and share it with the world.
Become Boundless and Write Your Own Story
In Boundless, your character is unique and your role is free to be defined. You can succeed by doing the things you love, and use coin to shortcut the things you don’t. Here’s just a few examples of how you can make your mark in Boundless:
• Hunt for creatures in dangerous areas and sell the rare loot and materials you find to non-combative citizens.
• Offer your services as a master-builder to other citizens and do honest work for coin.
• Collect the weirdest creatures from across the universe and open a space zoo(!), then charge citizens coin to visit.
• Create amazing sandbox contraptions like people cannons and hyper-efficient crafting machines, and then sell copies of the blueprints to other players so they can create them too.
• Collect the most valuable and rarest resources from across the universe and open a shop that citizens will flock to.
• Open a Portal hub, connecting your world to distant worlds across the universe and allow citizens to travel, for a fee of course!
• Become a Boundless real estate agent, by searching for and claiming the coolest plots of land and then selling them to other players for coin.
• Craft the coolest wearables, the tint them to perfection and open a boutique fashion store.
Those are just a few examples of what you’ll be able to do when the game launches on PS4. Our ambition is to build the ultimate open-world sandbox filled with real players, toys and mechanics. The most exciting things are yet to be discovered…
