I'm Mohammad Alwi,Director of Restaurant Operations for KFC Malaysia.A few days ago,a video showing what looks like food tampering in one of our restaurant kitchens appeared on YouTube.On behalf of KFC Malaysia,I'm extremely sorry for the distress and concern that may have undermine your trust and support,our thousands of customers and fans across Malaysia.Please allow me to take this opportunity to share more detail about the situation and the action KFC has taken to solve the issue and prevent it from happening again.Last October,KFC Malaysia was approached by an individual with a copy of video clip depicting someone tampering with the food while in the process of preparing it.We immediately took action and reported the incident to the police and at the same time,launched our own internal investigation.The individual in question is no longer with the company.On June 25th,we found that the video had been uploaded onto YouTube.The relevant authorities are currently investigating the situation.We have received a lot of questions from our customers and we value your concern and interest.You have asked us to share what step you have internally implemented to prevent this from happening again.First,we started installing cameras in our kitchen so that we can have a record of what goes on at all times.Hence,all employees can be accountable to you,our customer.Second,we changed the make up of our kitchen teams.With a lead cook guiding and supervising kitchen staffs to ensure uncompromised quality of our food and kitchen standards.Third,we continue to review the process of our recruitment and training structure to ensure that the people we hire understand and uphold the values of KFC,but what I would really want to emphasize here is that we have nearly ten thousands of cooks,waiters,waitresses and other employees across Malaysia who are the backbone of our success.Many of these colleagues have contacted me to express their outrage and disgust at what one irresponsible individual has done to undermine their passion and your trust.Many of our cook and kitchen team have been with us for over ten years.It is very disheartening for them and for all of us at KFC Malaysia to know that your enjoyment and trust have been challenged by a thoughtless act.I do want to hear from you.If you have any question,one easy and direct way is contact us through our facebook page,KFC Malaysia.We thank you for your support.My colleague and I will continue to do everything possible to deliver only the best for you.Sekian terima kasih.
