Telltale Games and Mojang Announce Minecraft: Story Mode



Announcing Minecraft: Story Mode

We’re collaborating with Telltale Games to create Minecraft: Story Mode! Here are some bullet points to celebrate!

• Minecraft: Story mode will be a narrative-driven video game created by Telltale Games. It will be about Minecraft.
• Mojang is collaborating with Telltale and members of the community to make Minecraft: Story Mode as Minecrafty as possible.
• The first episode will be released some time in 2015, and will be available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices.
• Minecraft: Story Mode will be released episodically, just like The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, or the recent Tales from the Borderlands, which is another developer-collaboration series between Telltale Games and Gearbox Software.
• We’re not intending on creating an “official” story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game.
• The Minecraft 2 thing was a joke. No really. It was a joke.

Telltale and Mojang Developing 'Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series' for 2015

As 2014 comes to a close, we are delighted to confirm our partnership with Mojang to create a new episodic game series based on one of the most popular video games in history - Minecraft.

Minecraft: Story Mode will be an all-new narrative-driven game series developed by Telltale in collaboration with Mojang. Set in the world of Minecraft, the series will feature an original story, driven by player choice. It will not be an add-on for Minecraft, but rather a separate stand-alone product that will premiere in 2015 on consoles, computers and mobile devices.

Telltale's game series will mix new characters with familiar themes, in an entirely original Minecraft experience, inspired by the Minecraft community and the game that continues to inspire a generation.

注入剧情元素！Mojang 将与 Telltale Games 推出《当个创世神》全新作品

　　才在日前推出《边缘禁地传说（Tales from the Borderlands）》，以《阴尸路（The Walking Dead）》系列游戏闻名的游戏厂商 Telltale Games 今日宣布与 Mojang 携手合作，推出注入剧情元素的全新作品《当个创世神：剧情模式（暂译，英文原名：Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series）》，并预定在 2015 年问世。

　　官方指出，由 Telltale、Mojang 共同开发的《当个创世神：剧情模式》将会是一个以章节剧情内容为主要游戏架构的全新作品，玩家将会在《当个创世神》的世界中遭遇到全新的角色，展开一段前所未有的冒险旅程。

　　Telltale Games 总裁 Kevin Bruner 对于这次的合作感到相当兴奋，并表示：「身为擅长说故事的游戏开发者，能与 Mojang 合作对于我们来说简直就像美梦成真！《当个创世神》创造出一个拥有无限可能的世界，我们等不及想要让全世界的玩家赶快进入这款新作，展开一段全新的探险。」

　　Mojang 代表 Owen Hill 则是指出：「一般玩家对于将故事元素注入《当个创世神》这件事都抱持相当乐观的看法，但若是在游戏主程序加入这项机制，也会限制玩家自由探索世界的自由。因此，让玩家可以在《当个创世神：剧情模式》这款作品中完成这项体验就是一个不错的选择，而 Telltale 也已经多次证明了他们透过游戏说故事的能力！我们迫不及待地想公开更多有关这款游戏的细节。」

　　《当个创世神：剧情模式》将会是一款独立的作品，不需要《当个创世神》的主程序即可游玩。游戏预定在 2015 年于 Xbox、PS 等电视主机，以及 PC、Mac、iOS、Android 等平台推出。

《时钟塔》精神继承作《NightCry》释出清水崇执导的真人惊悚宣传影片

　　根据工作室 Nude Maker 最新释出的真人宣传片，原称 Project Scissors（剪刀计划）的《时钟塔（Clock Tower）》精神继承作，将正式命名为《NightCry》。

　　宣传片段由知名恐怖片导演清水崇（代表作为《咒怨》系列）执导，这部约长三十秒的宣传片展示了数个场景，包括一名男孩看到挥舞着剪刀的幽灵的幻象等，或许意味着为人熟悉的剪刀男角色也会在本作中出现。



　　《NightCry》将于PS Vita、iOS及Android上推出，游戏由时钟塔系列制作人河野一二三监督制作，沉默之丘系列设计师伊藤畅达亦有参与本作的艺术及怪物造型设计。

　　作品故事设定为发生在豪华邮轮上的一系列神秘杀人事件，玩家将操纵着一个滞留在船中的角色，想办法生存下来。

　　本作最早在 2014 年 TGS 中首度公布，是为纪念《时钟塔》诞生 20 周年所发表的作品。

So long, and thanks for all the fish

It has been over twenty years since it all started. Zombie was formed in the same year that Forrest Gump was released, Sony's PlayStation launched, and Justin Bieber was born. It was also 4 years before Google Google was founded, and 4 years before Half-Life was released. Since then we have published our own and been part of over thirty titles, worked on every major console, partnered with nearly every publisher,, and even did a bit of work for the US Army. Now it is time for us to part ways and close our doors.

The owners of Zombie Studios are retiring and wish to thank you, our fans, for years of support you have provided us. It has been awesome working with all the various technology over the years, both hardware and software, growing with the industry and out fans, and producing fun games and technology of our own. We also wish to thank our employees, both present and past. Your dedication and passion to gaming is what Zombie was all about.

Lastly, we want to congratulate and wish nothing but success to Builder Box, the new studio starting up that has acquired some of the work Zombie is parting with, including all rights to Blacklight: Retribution. The new studio is comprised of past Zombie employees that put their hearts into Blacklight and we have no doubts will continue to do so.

Friday the 13th video game in development



EGM exclusive: Fleshbreaking new Friday the 13th videogame featuring horror icon Jason Voorhees in development

Friday the 13th, the genre-defining blockbuster horror franchise, is set to thrill and terrify a whole new generation of digital fans as the incomparable, unstoppable Jason Voorhees returns to videogames for his first solo outing in over 25 years, EGM has exclusively learned.

Currently in development, Friday the 13th will reportedly be an asymmetrical, co-operative and competitive multiplayer predator/prey horror experience that pits a small group of resourceful survivors against a single player in control of the immortal, relentless slasher icon.

This will be the first official Friday the 13th licensed game to feature the hockey mask–wearing, machete-wielding psychopath since players last faced off against the infamous Jason on the NES back in 1989.

The new game, tentatively titled Friday the 13th, is in development for multiple platforms for an October 2015 release. The game’s lore will not only reference elements from the classic film franchise, but also incorporate content and themes from the upcoming Friday the 13th television series.

“With a new television series on the horizon and plans announced for the thirteenth installment of the film franchise, we felt the timing was right to finally explore Jason, Camp Crystal Lake, and the rest of the Friday the 13th story in interactive form,” explains Sean S. Cunningham, creator of the original film that is credited by many as the genesis of the slasher/horror genre. “We have some exciting new ideas for a game that supplies plenty of replay value, while delivering the kinds of thrills and scares that fans of the franchise have come to expect.”

Cunningham hints that an experienced game studio has taken the reins of the title’s development and will be announced in the coming weeks.

　　本作品是，描写环绕于不祥之古书「Dogmaturgie」之间，所发生的事件与神秘故事的文字冒险游戏，在为系列首部作品的 《Dogmaturgie 序曲》里，描述喜爱着超自然现象的高中生们，在获得一本古书后，因而被卷入了事件之中，他们必须从现在自己所身处的状况下找出存活下去的方法。此外，还请到逢坂良太及大坪由佳等多位声优来诠释主角等角色。

　　还有，本系列所提倡的理念之一为「用户反馈」，将整合玩家们所提出的反应（意见）来调整游戏日后的发展。藉由官方网站及社群网络等通讯平台，实施以玩家为对象的问卷调查，游玩本作品的玩家们可积极地送上自己的意见。

Telltale Games 新任执行长透露公司正在开发一款全新的原创 IP 游戏

　　以制作与发行叙事游戏著名的 Telltale Games，今日宣布执行长将由共同创办人 Kevin Bruner 接手。Kevin 上任后除了指出 Telltale Games 还有尚未曝光的合作案之外，也透露目前团队正在开发一款全新的原创游戏。



　　成立于 2004 年的 Telltale Games 在近几年内发行了数款人气游戏，例如《阴尸路（The Walking Dead）》、《与狼同行（The Wolf Among Us》、《边缘禁地传说（Tales from the Borderlands）》，以及先前发表的《我的世界：剧情模式（Minecraft: Story Mode）》。



　　据了解，Telltale Games 前执行长 Dan Connors 将继续留在公司，职位则转为执行顾问。Kevin Bruner 上任后也对外透露，公司目前已与多款重量级游戏系列进行了合作，此外还有许多还未公开的合作案尚未曝光，其中还包括了一款原创 IP 的作品。
