Chaos Warriors will now be free to all Total War: Warhammer buyers in the first week
Chaos Warriors DLC for Total War: Warhammer, Now Free Week One
Creative Assembly today announced that the Chaos Warriors Race Pack will now also be offered free to players who purchase Total War: Warhammer in the first week of sale.
“The Chaos Warriors have proven to be hugely popular” said Creative Director, Mike Simpson “and, by extending the deadline for getting them for free by a week, we can ensure loyal fans who don’t feel like pre-ordering don’t miss out, while still rewarding early adopters whose support is really valuable to us.”
“We’re really confident in the game and with the community backing us so strongly this should be the biggest launch for Total War ever.”
Retailers who are currently supporting the pre-order will continue offering the DLC for free into the first week, with the free period coming to an end at 18:00 BST on the 31st May.
Catch the Chaos Warriors in action in this new Let’s Play video, featuring the titanic Kholek Suneater. Swathed in lightning and wielding a hammer the size of a building, Suneater is the most ancient of the Dragon Ogres and one of the Legendary Lords available to play as in the Chaos Warriors Race Pack.
Total War: Warhammer is out on the 24th May.

Total War: Warhammer ~ Official Mod Support & Steam Workshop Announced
Official Mod Support & Steam Workshop for Total War: Warhammer Announced!
Creative Assembly is pleased to announce that both the Assembly Kit and Steam Workshop support will be added to Total War: Warhammer for launch. The development team will be assisting some modders in readying their mods to release day and date with the game itself.
Though it was announced previously that the title would not benefit from official mod and Workshop support, CA and Games Workshop have been working away on the paperwork to make this much-demanded fan feature a reality.
So, from launch, players will be able to:
• Visit Steam Workshop For TW: Warhammer – and upload, browse, follow, discuss and install available mods straight from Steam, and access and manage them from the new Total War Mod Manager.
• Get the Assembly Kit – CA’s modding tool box previously released for S, will release with the Database Editor and BOB for modifying and exporting database tables and campaign start positions, with the aim to add further functionality, including battle map editing, later in the year.
• Download Mods – Attendees to CA’s Mod Summits over the last three years will be supplied early access to the game, to help populate the Steam Workshop from day one. Also, well-known modders Magnar and Dresden will receive specific help from the dev team to produce certain mods. Magnar is designing a Legendary Lord Start Position Mod; customising start positions so that Legendary Lords will start in different locations from Race Leaders, while Dresden is engineering a Regional Occupation Mod; altering the settlement rules to enable each race to settle every region.
Alongside the enabling of Steam Workshop, the DotA2 Team at Valve announced last week that they will be accepting submissions for a new Warhammer-themed treasure to mark the release of the game. Also free for any pre-orders made on the platform, further details can be found here.

Total War: Warhammer – New Chaos Warriors Campaign gameplay revealed
To follow on from the Chaos Warriors battle let’s play, Creative Assembly have unveiled more new gameplay from Total War: Warhammer, focussing on the Chaos Warriors Campaign; showing some of their unique gameplay mechanics, technology and battlefield units.
Potentially the most challenging Race to play as, the Chaos Warriors have a frenzied need to dominate and exterminate anyone they encounter in the name of the Dark Gods. This often risks leaving them on a knife edge; in danger of over-stretching even their mightiest hordes into enemy territory. This new video offers an glimpse at the Chaos Warrior’s unique mechanics as well as their tech trees, building chains and character progression .
Total War: Warhammer will release on 24th May 2016. The Chaos Warriors Race Pack is available for free now when you pre-order Total War: Warhammer, or purchase the game in the first week of release.

In our latest video, What is Total War: Warhammer?, we give those who may not yet have experienced the glory of being a mighty Total War general, an overview of what lies in store for the budding military strategist.
Total War: Warhammer is essentially two games in one. You’ll lead your chosen race on the Grand Campaign map, managing your empire in matters of diplomacy, economy and military strength. You’ll command great heroes and customise them with a wealth of options pertaining to skills, spells and personal quests. You’ll make friends and then stab them in the back to further your own diabolical or benevolent ends. You’ll ultimately strike the balance between survival and conquest as you strive to expand your empire from the southern Badlands to the Northern Wastes.
But with expansion, comes the inevitable conflict and it’s on the battlefields of the Old World where you’ll hone your skills as a military tactician. Total War: Warhammer features breath-taking, real time battles, the likes of which have never been realised in a Warhammer video game.
