Nazi Zombie Army 2 coming 2013!
At 2pm today Eurogamer broke the news that we've been developing a sequel to Steam best-seller Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army in preparation for a 2013 launch.
Below are some of the details we've been sharing with journalists and bloggers
New campaign. New terrors
Directly following the aftermath of the nerve-shredding climax to the first game, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 follows franchise stalwart Karl Fairburne and his three allies as they battle back into the dark heart of Berlin to put an end to the occult powers that reside there once and for all.
But as Head of Creative, Tim Jones explains, their unholy adversaries haven't been idle, and neither have Rebellion:
"We really wanted to heighten the demonic, nightmarish tones of the first game. The environments, the levels, the soundtrack all give a strong feeling of descent - each encounter, each level becoming progressively more hellish. Most importantly though, we've expanded the legions of Nazi undead with some really intimidating new enemies which we'll reveal soon."
An overwhelming response from fans
Launched in February of this year, the original NZA was imagined as a fun spin-off project between games, but the incredible reaction from gamers took the whole studio by surprise as Rebellion founder and CEO Jason Kingsley explains:
"It was amazing. At that point we hadn't announced Sniper Elite 3. A lot of Sniper Elite V2 fans had been asking for 4-player co-op content, and we thought it would be a good test of our gameplay mechanics. So we thought 'Why not?" and self-published it.”
"What we got though was a breakout hit. The co-op and the price put the game on the map, and suddenly we were at the top of the Steam charts. We had hundreds and hundreds of requests from YouTube channels wanting to do "Let's Plays" and reviews, and the game just took off. When we had a second to breathe, we looked at the player data and it turns out most of them had never actually played another Sniper Elite game. We never knew it would tap into such a broad audience."
And will the series ever see the light of day on other platforms?
"We have to admit, we underestimated the demand for the original game. All of sudden we had console gamers desperate for us to port the game to 360 and PS3, but without a publisher this just wasn't feasible. We left a lot of Sniper Elite fans disappointed. They didn't want to hear excuses from us, they just wanted to play it".
"As an independent, we're obviously really excited about what we're hearing from Sony and Microsoft when it comes to self publishing on PS4 and Xbox One. We think the series could be a great fit for them."

《狙击精英：纳粹僵尸部队2》将于今年登陆PC
Rebellion之前放出了一张标示着”回到柏林 2013“的图片，现在Rebellion已经正式公布这款新作是《狙击精英：纳粹僵尸部队2》。该作将于今年登陆PC，同时也有可能会登陆次世代主机。
前作《狙击精英：纳粹僵尸部队》作为《狙击精英2》的一款独立资料片已于今年2月上市。在续作中，Karl Fairburne和他的三个小伙伴们将重返柏林，对抗纳粹僵尸大军。
至多4名玩家能参与到合作游戏中来。
Rebellion希望自行在PS4和Xbox One上发行这款游戏。
Rebellion最近暗示的游戏被证明为《狙击精英：纳粹僵尸部队2》，同时这款游戏被正式宣布将登陆PC平台。
在一次采访中，创意总监Tim Jones表示这款新游戏将加强第一款游戏中的阴暗邪恶的感觉。
“我们非常想加强第一款游戏的阴暗邪恶的感觉。游戏中的环境，关卡，声轨都充满了堕落的感觉，每一次的遭遇，每一个关卡都会变的越来越邪恶。但是最重要的是，我们用一些非常惊人的新敌人扩大了纳粹不死大军的阵容，我们会在以后陆续推出这些新敌人的细节。”
《纳粹僵尸部队2》中的主角还是Karl。他将在柏林同三个同伴对抗以合作的模式来对抗这股神秘的力量。
目前，这款游戏只计划于年内在PC上推出。次世代主机版本也非常有可能实现。
根据工作室的负责人Jason Kinglsey的说法：
“现在次世代主机版本的可能性肯定是有的。之前因为自主发行的问题所以可能性很小，所以我们也没有真正考虑过。以为内之前公司必须同一个第三方公司合作，还要同其他人签约。这让次世代主机版本的可能性变的越来越小。《纳粹僵尸部队》本来就是一次赌博。我们当时都不知道会不会成功。我们当时希望玩家可以喜欢。我们当时希望玩家可以根据名字来明白这款游戏的幽默成分。我们当时也很明显没有太多钱来宣传这款游戏。所以我们就直接发布了这款游戏，到目前为止销量很不错，我们发展了一大批喜欢打僵尸的粉丝。在发行当天我们就已经收回了成本。这简直太棒了。”
