Today we debuted the first cinematic trailer for our next game, Mass Effect: Andromeda. While we are still many months away from the game’s release date in holiday 2016, we’re excited to show you a bit of where we’re at. First, though, some background on the game itself.
When we wrapped up the original Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect 3: Citadel in early 2013, planning and design on Mass Effect: Andromeda was already well underway. We knew we wanted to start with a foundation composed of the best parts of any Mass Effect game: exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action. At the same time, we clearly wanted to expand the definition of what you should expect from a Mass Effect game.
While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.
We built this trailer in Frostbite, our game engine, and it represents our visual target for the final game. We are thrilled by what we’ve already been able to achieve in bringing Mass Effect to Frostbite and by putting our entire focus on PC and current gen consoles. With the time remaining in development, we’re excited about the possibility to push things even more.
Thank you again for all of the support you keep showing us, and we’re looking forward to sharing more details with you near the end of the year. Until then, the teams in our Montreal, Edmonton, and Austin studios will be hard at work creating an entirely new adventure for you to lose yourselves in.
Thanks,
Aaryn Flynn, Studio General Manager, BioWare Canada - Yanick Roy, Studio Director, BioWare Montreal
bioware.com作者: kirassss 时间: 2015-4-19 05:54 PM Rumor: Next Mass Effect details leak through survey
Last Month I Took a Random Survey About Mass Effect 4. Here is What I Found Out
Sometimes I take surveys online for a little extra money. One day last month I got one with this:
The Next Mass Effect Context
The next Mass Effect game takes place in the Helius Cluster (a cluster of 100s of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy), far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard’s heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy. You are a pathfinder, a combat trained but un-tested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius cluster to establish a new home for humanity. As you explore this sprawling series of solar systems (over 4x the size of Mass Effect 3), collecting resources and building colonies, you will encounter the savagery of untamed lands in the form of cut-throat outlaws and warring alien races. To survive and colonize the wild reaches of space, you will need to grow your arsenal, your ship, your crew and make strategic (and often uneasy) alliances to fight against increasingly menacing foes. Along the way, you will encounter the remains of a once powerful and mysterious alien race, the Remnant, whose forgotten technology holds the key to gaining power in this region of the galaxy. As you uncover who the Remnant were, and the mysteries their ruins contain, you are drawn into a violent race to find the source of their forgotten technology that will determine the fate of humanity.
Collect Resources to Fuel your Growth
Scour solar systems and planets within the Helius Cluster to find valuable resources and blueprints of long forgotten alien technology that will allow you to craft better equipment and weapons, such as improving your leg armor to allow you to jetpack jump, or upgrading your cryo-beam (laser cannon) to target enemies or do area damage around you to clear out close threats. As you build your arsenal and resource infrastructure, you will be able to explore deeper into the increasingly dangerous and resource-rich solar systems of the Helius Cluster.
A Capable Crew
Throughout the story, you will recruit seven distinct crew members to fight by your side. Each crew member has a unique personality and specific abilities that open up strategic options as you choose which two of them to bring into each mission. For example, Cora has the ability to deploy a biotic shield that protects everyone in the bubble while still allowing you and your squad to fire out of it. Your crew will grow alongside you as you explore the Helius Cluster, and you can choose how you upgrade your crew’s weapons, gear and abilities to increase their individual combat effectiveness. Create the perfect squad to react to any situation and to support your preferred gameplay style.
Your Crew, Your Story
Your crew members aren’t merely hired guns – they are part of the living universe in the Helius Cluster that develops in response to your actions and choices. Increase each crew member’s loyalty by pursuing missions that are important to that specific character. For example, when a Krogan colony ship has been stolen by one of the outlaw factions leaving the colonists stranded without resources to survive, your Krogan squad mate, Drack, is determined to strike out against them. If you take the mission and help him track down the outlaws’ hideout to return the ship to its rightful owners, Drack’s loyalty toward you and your squad will increase and Drack will unlock a brand new skill tree.
Explore each individual’s backstory and develop your relationship with them through conversations and unique missions. True to Mass Effect, what you choose to say will directly affect your crew’s loyalty and relationship with you, and will open up different conversations and narrative opportunities at the end of the game depending upon how you approach each encounter.
Deployed Strike Team Missions
The Helius Cluster is 1000s of light years across, and you can’t be everywhere at once. As you develop more colonies, resource bases and settlements, you have to be able to keep them safe. Spend resources to recruit mercenaries and develop an AI controlled Strike Team that you can deploy to take on randomly generated, time-sensitive missions. Strike Team missions take many forms, including settlement defense and Remnant artifact recovery, which will take real-time to complete. Send your Strike Team out on a mission while you continue playing the main game and they will return, 20 – 30 minutes later, having gained rewards such as XP, currency and equipment based on the success of their mission. Spend money and resources to train your Strike Team and acquire better gear for them, which will increase their success rate and allow them to take on more difficult missions for greater rewards.
Active Strike Team Missions
When you encounter a Strike Team mission in the Single-Player mode, you can leave your Strike Team at their base and decide to tackle the mission yourself with your Multiplayer roster of characters. You also have the option of tackling the mission by yourself, or recruiting up to three friends to play with you. The more friends you bring, the greater the challenge and the greater the reward. These missions will play out using the Next Mass Effect’s multiplayer Horde mode (more details on this later). These missions will include a variety of thematically appropriate objectives, like defending a Settlement against Khet attacks, or recovering a Remnant artifact off of a planet before an outlaw gang gets there first. By taking an active role in strike team missions, you can earn special Single-player rewards in addition to the usual multiplayer specific characters, weapons, weapon mods, and pieces of equipment which can be customized between missions. Additionally, players who join another person’s Strike Team mission will receive bonus in-game currency and multiplayer XP for helping others with their missions.作者: kirassss 时间: 2015-4-19 05:54 PM Multiplayer “Horde” Mode
The next Mass Effect’s “Horde” multiplayer pits you and up to three of your friends against waves of enemy troops on various battlefields throughout the galaxy. Players fight together to survive increasingly difficult enemy attacks and accomplish objectives, like disabling a bomb near a colony base or assassinating a target. Progress through multiplayer missions to gain XP and earn new multiplayer specific weapons, characters, weapon mods, and pieces of equipment, which can be customized between matches. Multiplayer play will also earn you APEX funds (in-game currency), which can be used to purchase items and gear in the Single Player game.
Establish Settlements
Search solar systems for rare habitable planets to establish a settlement that could serve as a base for humankind’s new home in the Helius Cluster. As you build permanent settlements, you will make strategic choices on where to focus your new base’s resources. For example: Recon Settlements will clear fog of war from the space map and give the player more strike team missions to choose from, while Mining Settlements will periodically supplement the player’s supply of crafting materials.
Dialogue
Building upon the rich history of strategic dialogue that has defined the Mass Effect series, you can make meaningful choices in every conversation you have with characters that impact the way your game evolves. The next Mass Effect adds deeper control over your conversations through a greater ability to interrupt and change the course of the conversation as it is happening. During certain conversations, you will be able to take action based choices, such as the option to pull out your gun and force someone to open a door instead of convincing them to do it through conversational guile. Action based choices give you more options for how you approach dialogue with characters in the game and can lead to more extreme outcomes on the story as it evolves around the decisions you make when interacting with a huge cast of NPC characters.
Seamlessly Travel Through the Next Mass Effect Universe
As you pilot your space ship, Tempest, across the 100s of solar systems that are seamlessly connected in the next Mass Effect, you will encounter new planets filled with valuable resources, intelligent life, conflict, and alien technology that all give you opportunities to increase the power of your character, your ship and your team so that you can build them into a force that perfectly suits your gameplay style. Transitions between activities, like flying your Tempest (space ship) across a solar system to land on a mineral rich planet, then jumping into your Mako (land vehicle) to explore the surface of planet, all happen smoothly without loading screens.
Customize and Share Your Experience
Discover new things in Andromeda Galaxy, like alien artifacts and natural wonders, that serve as trophies and decorations that you can use to modify the look of your character, Tempest (Space Ship) and Mako (land vehicle). Customize the way your squad and your character look with clothes and aesthetic modifications that you unlock throughout the game. Photos you take from the far reaches of the galaxy can be used to decorate your starship or sold to certain characters.
Remnant Vault Raids: Find and activate Remnant Monoliths to unlock Remnant vaults. Explore abandoned Remnant ruins to find and locate a powerful artifact, but once you remove it you will trigger the vault defenses that will arm traps, activate defense robots and even change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. Fight your way out of the vault and you will be rewarded with valuable loot, including powerful gear, crafting resources and Star Keys that can be used to unlock massive orbital facilities in space that grant permanent stat bonuses.
Optional Elite Remnant Vault Raids are scattered around the Helius Cluster located in special orbital facilities that are unlocked by Star Keys. Similar to the standard Remnant Vaults, you enter them to retrieve a special artifact which will trigger the vault defenses that arm traps, activate defense robots and change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. However, Elite vaults ratchet up the difficulty of the encounter with increasingly powerful defense robots and traps, as well as roaming outlaws and deadly Khet patrols that are also in search of the elite artifacts. Elite Remnant vaults will test the limits of your combat and puzzle solving acumen, but with greater difficulty comes greater rewards. Gain rare loot, narrative acclaim and huge rewards for completing these daunting challenges.
Khet Outposts
As you explore planets throughout the Helius Cluster, you will encounter Khet Outposts. These outposts are optional combat experiences where you enter the outpost and fight off waves of enemies. Destroy Khet outposts to earn XP, rewards and thwart their growing power in the region. Your allies will reward you with praise and increased narrative options as you fight to remove the Khet presence from the region.
Drive and upgrade your Mako (land vehicle)
Explore the surfaces of 100s of planets in the Helius Cluster in your versatile land vehicle, the Mako. Whether you are looking for a place to set up a colony, searching for a Remnant vault or attacking a Khet Outpost, you will enjoy getting there in your Mako. Equip and upgrade your Mako in dozens of ways, like adding turbo boosters, upgrading your shield generator or adding a Hostile Detector to your radar to create the ultimate planetary exploration vehicle. Finally, get your Mako looking the way you want with a custom paintjob.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Outline
Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory - where WE are the aliens - opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us.
Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery. Play as the leader of a squad of military-trained explorers in an intense third-person shooter, with deep progression and customization systems.
This is the story of humanity’s next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda Galaxy.
Description for a "possible future version of Mass Effect"
There is a major battle brewing, and it awaits you. It is unfolding across a galaxy of planets, with creatures and species entirely unknown. Draw your weapon, because the fighter is bigger than you thought. It’s not just for your own life, it’s for all of humanity – the ultimate battle for a place we can all call home.
With Mass Effect: Andromeda, our team at BioWare is exploring how far they can take this beloved franchise. Yes, we’re building the best of what we all love about Mass Effect – amazing stories, characters and fun third-person shooter combat – and bringing them along with us on the expedition to Andromeda. But we’re also excited to be introducing new features and ways you can enjoy a Mass Effect game.
• More Freedom: One of our biggest ambitions is to give players an unprecedented level of freedom for a Mass Effect experience –where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and how you’ll play.
• New Uncharted Worlds: We’re leaving the Milky Way behind and headed to Andromeda, where we’ll meet new allies, confront new enemies, and explore fascinating new worlds.
• The Next Great Mass Effect Experience: Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the first Mass Effect game for today’s consoles and the first built on the Frostbite engine. We’re pushing the technology to deliver visuals, story, and gameplay that have never been done in franchise history.
As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017. We can’t wait to show you how far we’re all going to go. We’ll see you at the EA Play press conference on June 12, with an update.

Explore Mass Effect: Andromeda with a New Gameplay Reveal
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, you’ll lead humanity into an uncharted galaxy, encountering undiscovered worlds, alien species, wondrous technology, and all-new gameplay. At The Game Awards 2016, we revealed brand-new gameplay footage, and are thrilled to share it with you here!
The new reveal kicks off with a view of the Galaxy Map, which will allow you to navigate from one system to another in the Tempest and scan planets for resources. You’ll encounter locations like the bustling outlaw home world of Kadara Port, a planet where battles between different factions are commonplace. The video highlights one of these such confrontations, in which a group of outlaws are entrenched in battle and the Pathfinder is presented with an opportunity to engage or ignore the skirmish entirely.
As the Pathfinder, you’ll be able to call down Forward Stations to change up your weapon loadouts, alter squad composition, fast-travel to other locations, and discover nearby resources and details about surrounding regions. You’ll chart courses to hazardous environments and fight hostile wildlife. You’ll traverse across dangerous worlds, using your scanner to discover clues about your mission locations.
The reveal also shows off a number of features with which you’ll want to become familiar as Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Pathfinder. You’ll encounter entirely new alien races such as the Kett, and will grow to rely on companions like Vetra and Drack, seen in the video. Leading your squad through beautiful-yet-deadly worlds, you’ll progress your Pathfinder with a deeply customizable character system, crafting, and a host of new weapons, powers, and gear. And of course, you’ll develop lasting relationships with your companions forged from a long and perilous journey through space.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch in Spring 2017, and we’ve got so much more to share with you as we prepare for liftoff. Be sure to sign up for the Andromeda Initiative to receive pre-departure training videos and exclusive in-game rewards.
On behalf of our teams across Montreal, Edmonton and Austin, I’m excited to announce that Mass EffectTM: Andromeda will be launching in North America on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 and beginning Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Europe. We appreciate your patience (and in fact, even your lack of patience in some instances) as we’ve been focused on completing the game. Here’s a little bit of context into how we’ve gotten here.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date. We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.
Over this holiday break, developers at BioWare took home a version of the game in what we call the “holiday build”. This is a longstanding studio tradition that goes back to the early days of the original Mass Effect. Many load up a PC or console and go home to play as much as possible at their leisure. Coming back from holiday, the feedback has been great. Getting the endorsement from members of our studio, many of whom played key roles on the original trilogy, was definitely a key factor in helping us lock in on the date.
Even more exciting for us over the last couple of months has been seeing the excitement build in the community as we’ve started to share more about the game. The passion you have for the franchise continues to drive us. And now, we’re just a couple of months away from delivering a brand new Mass Effect experience to you for the first time in five years – richer, deeper and ready for exploration. We’re excited about how far we are going with the franchise, and we hope you find it’s been worth the wait.

As humanity’s Pathfinder, you’ll explore undiscovered planets, encounter alien civilizations, and make new friends – and not a few enemies. When Mass Effect™: Andromeda launches this coming March, you’ll grow to rely on a diverse squad of teammates, each with their own talents and personalities.
Two of your starting squad mates will be Liam and Cora, who both signed up to be part of the Pathfinder team on the Ark Hyperion. Liam has already made a name for himself in the Milky Way as a security specialist, with expertise in crisis response, while Cora has had the unique experience of training with the asari matriarchs. Along with Alec, Scott, and Sara Ryder, they form the core of the Pathfinder team, and will be vital companions as you touch down on the Nexus for the first time.
Unlike Liam and Cora, your other squad mates, like Vetra, Peebee, and Drack, have traveled to Andromeda long before your arrival. Vetra, who is already onboard the Nexus, has found that family ties are more important than venturing deeper into the galaxy. Neither Peebee nor Drack were part of the initial Pathfinder team, and while you’ll find Peebee to be a free spirit with a penchant for alien civilizations, you’ll come to know Drack as an aged and grizzled veteran, even by krogan standards.
Of course, you’ll encounter a number of other companions as you traverse Andromeda in search of humanity’s new home, and will put your trust in others like Kallo Jath, your salarian pilot. Among other accomplishments, Kallo was one of the engineers who built the Tempest in its Milky Way construction, and knows the ship inside and out.
Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on March 21, 2017 in North America and March 23, 2017 in Europe. Sign up for the Andromeda Initiative now to receive pre-departure training information and exclusive in-game rewards.
《质量效应:仙女座》预定 3 月 21 日正式发售,Xbox One 与 PC 版EA 会员 3 月 16 日可游玩 10 小时体验版,PS4 平台因为不支持 EA 会员服务所以并不包括体验版。

Weapons and Skills in Mass Effect: Andromeda
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, you are the Pathfinder – the ultimate adventurer in a vast, unexplored galaxy on a mission to find a new home for humanity. You’ll visit untamed worlds, make lasting relationships with new companions, and face some of the most dangerous challenges the Andromeda galaxy has to offer.
In our first deep-dive gameplay video, we’re going to take you through the weapons and skills that you’ll become familiar with when the game launches on March 21.
Movement
The action in Mass Effect: Andromeda is built around fluid, fast-paced, third-person combat. You’ll experience freedom of movement with the use of a jump-jet that allows you to jump, evade, and hover in the midst of battle. You’ll also discover a dynamic new cover system that enables you to seamlessly use almost anything, including your own vehicle, for cover. Using your jump-jet and the cover system, you’ll be able to approach each battle in a way that suits your gameplay style.
Weapons
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, there are four categories of firearms: pistols, shotguns, and sniper and assault rifles—plus a range of melee weapons for up-close combat. These categories accommodate a variety of specialized play styles. If you want to get in close, you can focus on melee, shotguns, and pistols. If you prefer to shoot while on the move while maintaining your distance, assault rifles will be your weapons of choice. Or, if you like to hang back and pick off enemies one-by-one, sniper rifles will be the way to go.
There are no class restrictions on weapons, so trying something new is as easy as switching your loadout.
Weapons and gear in Mass Effect: Andromeda fall into three technology types based on where their supporting tech comes from. Milky Way weapons typically use physical ammunition that’s similar to the types of weapons you might be familiar with from the previous three games – with some advancements, of course. These are high-impact, projectile-based guns; they’re great against most non-shielded targets, but require you to keep an eye on your ammo.
Remnant weapons typically use beams, have a high rate of fire, and are extremely accurate. They use an overheat system that doesn’t require a reliance on ammunition. You’ll never run out of ammo, but you’ll have to wait for your gun to cool down from time to time.
You’ll also encounter weapons incorporating technology from civilizations in the Heleus Cluster of the Andromeda galaxy. Heleus weapons are generally plasma-based, which means they benefit from heat-seeking technology. Some other Heleus weapons are charge-based: the longer you charge them before releasing, the harder they hit.
Melee weapons vary in both damage and speed. Hard-hitting hammers do maximum damage, while lightning-fast shivs or swords allow you to get in and out of harm’s way with speed and precision.
Skills
In addition to weapons, you can also develop skills and abilities. Like the weapons, there are no restrictions on what skills you can choose, and each of the three main categories – Combat, Tech, and Biotics – is designed to facilitate a certain style of play.
Combat skills are great if you want to focus on weapons, gear, and efficiency in battle. These skills focus on improving weapon damage and accuracy, as well as enabling the use of flak cannons, grenades, trip mines, and more.
Tech skills allow you to equip your Pathfinder with more experimental weaponry, or focus on strategic improvements for yourself and your squad. The Cryo Beam and Flamethrower offer more offensive punch, while skills like Invasion and Energy Drain weaken your opponents and soften them up for easier take-downs. And, if you need some additional firepower, you can deploy your very own assault turret.
Last, but not least, your Pathfinder can control dark energy to manipulate the power of mass and gravity. Biotic skills like Pull and Throw allow you to literally control the battlefield, using your enemies as shields or even weapons. Abilities like Annihilation and Singularity, for example, will damage anything or anyone caught up in their powerful grip.
Each skill can be upgraded to become increasingly more devastating and effective, with different upgrade paths for even more ways to customize your play style. Enemies in Mass Effect: Andromeda have specific strengths and weaknesses, and your strategic use of different skills and abilities will determine your tactical advantage against your opponents.
Be sure to keep your eye on MassEffect.com for more information on gameplay in Mass Effect: Andromeda, as we’ll be touring you through squads, crafting, multiplayer, and so much more before launch.

The second video in Electronic Arts and BioWare’s Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay series focuses on profiles, favorites, and your squad.
As you level up in Mass Effect: Andromeda, you’ll gain access to dozens of skills and over 300 skill upgrades. You’re free to pick any skill without being limited to a class, which allows you to create a Pathfinder suited to how you want to play.
As detailed in the first video, there are three main types of skills in the game: combat, tech, and biotics. As you unlock skills over the course of the game, you’ll also gain access to profiles. There are seven types of profiles. Here are two of them:
Adept – The Adept profile is perfect for players who want to specialize in biotics. As you choose more biotic skills, the Adept profile will give you bonuses to suit your play style. Choosing Adept gives bonuses to the duration and damage of your biotics. And the more you invest in your skills, the higher level profiles you can unlock.
Explorer – Maybe you want to be more versatile, choosing some combat mixed with biotic and tech skills. This will unlock the Explorer profile, giving you perks and buffs that enhance all your abilities.
You can swap between these profiles at any time, giving you a number of ways to tackle each battle and never locking you into a particular style of play.
Favorites are a quick way to map three skills and a single profile to one slot. At any time during combat, you can switch between these four slots, giving you access to up to 12 of your favorite skills during a fight.
As for your squad, each of your six squad-mates has three active and two passive skills. In the video, we see Cora use her biotics as a support character and Drack able to soak up damage as a bruiser. You can set your squad up around the battlefield, ordering them to defend locations, attack targets, or rally to your side, as well as team up with them for Power Combos. These activate when you or one of your squad-mates primes an enemy or group of enemies, setting them up for the kill, then you or a squad-mate jumps in to detonate and finish the job. You can level up your squad-mates to make them specifically good at priming or detonating targets.

Mass Effect Andromeda Exploration & Discovery, First 13 Minutes
《质量效应:仙女座》探索行星多达上百颗和超长开场剧情/基本操作演示!
EA 今天公布《质量效应:仙女座(Mass Effect Andromeda)》最新游戏演示预告片聚焦本作的探索元素。
Exploration, Discovery, and Crafting in Mass Effect: Andromeda
Welcome back to the Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay series. In our first two videos, we took a closer look at weapons and skills, and then profiles and squads. In this installment, we’re diving straight into the heart of Mass Effect: Andromeda – exploration. The Andromeda Galaxy is filled with worlds to discover and diverse locations to explore.
The Galaxy Map
The story in Mass Effect: Andromeda takes place in the Heleus Cluster, a portion of space populated with dozens of star systems. You can navigate these systems using the Tempest’s onboard Galaxy Map and see everything that exists outside your ship’s many windows in real-time. Planets, moons, space anomalies, and starships will all be visible from the Tempest.
As you look over the map, you’ll see dozens of systems and over a hundred planets in the Andromeda Galaxy, including several that you can explore on foot. That’s where your adventure will begin in earnest.
Planets
Each world visited will have its own story, characters, and—of course—challenges.
In our gameplay video above, the world we’re visiting is Elaaden. When you explore the opening landing area, called Paradise, you’ll quickly discover that the heat on Elaaden can be deadly, that water is scarce, and that mysterious ancient artifacts are scattered across the landscape, guarded by dangerous remnant creatures. To make a life on Elaaden, you have to be desperate – or krogan.
Yet even the krogan aren’t happy, and they don’t trust anyone from the Andromeda Initiative – least of all a Pathfinder. How you deal with the krogan and the challenges that go along with them will ultimately determine success on Elaaden.
The Nomad, your all-terrain rover, is key for quickly covering the expansive landscapes throughout the Andromeda Galaxy. You’ll be able to enhance the Nomad with a series of functional upgrades designed to give you better Turbo Boost, higher jumps, better handling, and more.
Forward Stations
While exploring, one of your objectives will be to discover locations where you can call down Forward Stations. Once found, each of these Forward Stations acts as a fast travel point, allowing you to change your loadout or call the Nomad if it gets lost or destroyed. It also allows you to resupply, while protecting your team from any environmental hazards.
In some locations, like the dunes on Elaaden, you’ll be exposed to localized and/or global hazards, such as extreme temperatures. The Pathfinder and the Nomad are both separately outfitted with Life Support systems that help protect against these hazards, but once these systems run out of energy, you’ll need to find a safe location or a Forward Station to recharge them.
Outposts
When traveling throughout a planet, you’ll discover new areas to explore, characters, and storylines. Ultimately, all your discoveries will help raise the Viability of the planet, which in turn lets you to create an outpost and upgrade the Nexus – the Andromeda Initiative’s space station.
Before a planet can support an outpost, you’ll need to raise its Viability to at least 40% by countering threats, allying yourself with the locals, solving environmental problems, and accomplishing specific tasks related to that planet’s story. In the case of Elaaden, for example, your relationship with the krogan ultimately determines whether the viability of an outpost.
Additionally, your exploration and discoveries nets you Andromeda Viability Points (AVP). Attaining certain AVP thresholds makes upgrading the Nexus possible and wakes up more colonists from cryo-sleep. Which colonists you decide to wake up determines what perks and advantages you’ll be able to utilize. Want to get an edge in research and development? Wake up scientists. Need more combat prowess? Rouse the military personnel. Want some help with trading? Call in the merchants. The choice is yours!
Vaults
No one said finding a new home for humanity would be easy. The Andromeda Galaxy holds many mysteries, not the least of which is a vast network of ancient Vaults.
Simply figuring out how to access one of these Vaults is a challenge, taking you across an entire world to complete. Once inside a Vault, you’ll need to rely on every element of Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay – including exploration, environmental navigation, puzzle-solving, and combat – to bring them online and make it out alive. Resolving the mystery of these Vaults may hold the key to survival in the Andromeda Galaxy.作者: kirassss 时间: 2017-3-4 05:33 PM Crafting
If you like building and modifying weapons and gear to match your unique play style, you’ll love our deep crafting system. In Mass Effect: Andromeda, assembling your ideal equipment relies on two key components: Research and Development.
Research: When exploring, you’ll want to scan all the unique wildlife and tech you discover to earn Research Data related to your subject. The more you learn, the more unique and rare blueprints and augmentations you’ll be able to unlock.
Development: Once research is done, it’s time to craft. Look at the blueprints to see what materials are needed and where they can be found. Get materials from merchants, find them while exploring on foot, mine them with the Nomad’s drone, or discover them while exploring space in the Tempest. Depending on the materials used and the research you’ve done, you can apply augmentations while building gear.
Augmentations : These are special devices which can be incorporated into a weapon or armor piece during crafting to give it unique properties. Below are just a few of the Augmentations available, to provide a sense of what’s possible when you use them while crafting a weapon or piece of armor:
• Aerial Stabilizer: If used while crafting a weapon, grants accuracy to weapon damage whenever you’re hovering. If used while crafting armor, improves your biotic powers while hovering.
• Beam Emitter: Replaces the firing mechanism of a gun with an energy beam. Turn your Avenger into a laser rifle!
• Coolant Unit: Increases clip size whenever special ammo is in use, allowing you to get the most out of your cryo, incendiary, or disruptor rounds.
• Shield Disruptor: If used while crafting a weapon, increases the power of your disruptor ammo. If used while crafting leg armor, adds an electrical discharge to your air melee attacks.
• Vintage Heat Sink: Converts any gun to an overheat system (like in the original Mass Effect™), where you’ll never run out of ammo.
Additionally, a huge variety of mods can further enhance your weapons abilities, as well as Remnant “fusion mods” that can upgrade your armor. And the more you explore, the more materials you’ll find, the more amazing things you’ll build, and the more devastating you’ll be on the battlefield.
At its heart, Mass Effect: Andromeda is a game of discovery and exploration. The choices made and the places visited let you blaze a unique trail through the Andromeda Galaxy. Whether exploring the depths of a crashed starship, or delving into the core of an active volcano – the more you engage with the world around you and the characters in it, the more that world will surprise with what’s waiting just around the corner.

Mass Effect: Andromeda PC Graphics Settings Revealed, Exclusive 4K Ansel Screenshots Released
The long-awaited Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on March 21st in North America, and March 23rd in Europe, and will be available from March 16th for Electronic Arts’ Origin Access subscribers. Featuring an entirely new setting and story, Mass Effect: Andromeda is an ideal entry-point for franchise newcomers, presenting fresh story-led, action-RPG gameplay set hundreds of years after the events of the original Mass Effect Trilogy.
Today, we’re unveiling the graphics settings for the PC version, and showing four 4K screenshots captured at max detail levels using NVIDIA Ansel and its Free Camera and Super Resolution options.
If you’ve played other Frostbite Engine games, such as Battlefield 1 and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, you’ll know that titles built on DICE and EA’s engine run well and feature a good range of graphics options. Unsurprisingly then Mass Effect: Andromeda continues the trend, enabling you to scale image quality and performance to suit systems old and new.
As you can see below in screen captures of the WIP graphics menu, Mass Effect: Andromeda gives you options for Ambient Occlusion, Anti-Aliasing, Chromatic Aberration, Effects Quality, Film Grain, Lighting Quality, Mesh Quality, Post-Process Effect Quality, Resolution Scaling, Shader Quality, Shadow Quality, Terrain Quality, Texture Filtering Quality, Texture Quality, and Vegetation Quality.
In total there are 16 options that affect image quality, most of which have several detail levels. Additionally, Mass Effect: Andromeda players with a HDR television, or a G-SYNC HDR monitor, can enable the best implementation of HDR seen to date on PC with one flick of a switch in the Video menu.
For playing Mass Effect: Andromeda on PC, here’s what BioWare and Electronic Arts recommend for Minimum settings at 1280x720, and High settings at 1920x1080:
Mass Effect: Andromeda Minimum System Requirements For 1280x720
• CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD FX 6350
• GPU: GeForce GTX 660
• RAM: 8GB
• OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
• HDD: 55GB free space
• DirectX: Version 11
Mass Effect: Andromeda Recommended System Requirements For 1920x1080
• CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD FX 8350
• GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, or GeForce GTX 970
• RAM: 16GB
• OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
• HDD: 55GB free space
• DirectX: Version 11
If you wish to crank those 16 options to their maximum levels, or run at higher resolutions with higher framerates, you’ll want to equip your system with a faster GPU, such as the GeForce GTX 1070, GeForce GTX 1080, or newly-announced GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.
With enough horsepower you’ll be able to run Mass Effect: Andromeda at 4K with maximum settings, an experience exemplified by the exclusive PC screenshots above. Each is captured at max settings at 4K using NVIDIA Ansel, with no additional post-processing or Photoshopping.
If you’ve not heard of NVIDIA Ansel before now, it’s a powerful screenshot tool that enables you to capture unique, professional-grade 2D, 360° and Virtual Reality 360° screenshots on GeForce GTX graphics cards. During gameplay simply press Alt+F2 and you’ll be able to frame and capture your own screenshots, and render them to your PC at resolutions up to 63,360 x 35,640, 33 times higher than 1920 x 1080.
If you’re not geeking-out about all these graphics settings and features, and just want to play the game with a good framerate on your available hardware, load GeForce Experience and apply its one-click Optimal Playable Settings for the best possible experience from the second you load Mass Effect: Andromeda. GeForce Experience will automatically determine and apply the best settings for your CPU and GPU, whilst targeting a smooth 60 FPS.
If you want to know more about Mass Effect: Andromeda’s single-player and multiplayer modes be sure to check out the game’s official website. And for more on the PC version, stay tuned to the NVIDIA GeForce YouTube channel in the coming days.

Mass Effect: Andromeda update roadmap detailed
《质量效应:仙女座》补丁来袭 面部表情终于要修复了
It’s been two weeks since the launch of Mass Effect: Andromeda and we’re thankful to the millions of you who have already joined us on this journey. And though the game is now in your hands, it’s really just the beginning.
Since launch, our team has been poring over your comments and feedback, looking to discover what you like about the game, as well as areas we can evolve or improve.
This Thursday, we’ll release a new patch that addresses technical fixes (crashes, improved performance), but also adds a number of improvements we’ve heard you ask for, such as:
• Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map
• Increasing the inventory limits
• Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and asari characters
• Decreasing the cost of remnant decryption keys and making them more accessible at merchants
• Improving localized voice over lip sync
• Fixing Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern
• Improving matchmaking and latency in multiplayer
There are many more adjustments being made, all of which you can find in our patch notes.
Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game:
• More options and variety in the character creator
• Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters
• Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations
• Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
• Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams
These upcoming patches will also address performance and stability issues. And we’re looking at adding more cosmetic items to single player for free.
For multiplayer, over the same timeframe, we’re going to continue to build on the APEX missions that have been running since launch. We’ll be adding new maps, characters, and weapons. On Thursday, we kick off the first of three new chapters centered around The Remnant Investigation.
This is just a taste of what’s in store as we continue to support Mass Effect: Andromeda. And as always, you all play an important role in that. We want to hear from you about your experiences, both what you love about the game and what you’d like to see changed. We’re listening, and we’re committed to partnering with you as we continue to explore the Andromeda galaxy together.
Here’s to a great journey, Aaryn Flynn, General Manager BioWare

Kotaku: BioWare Montreal Downsized, Mass Effect Put On Ice For Now
仙女座后质量效应遭彻底冰封 开发人员已转移EA
Sources: BioWare Montreal Scaled Down, Mass Effect Put On Ice For Now
In the wake of BioWare’s polarizing Mass Effect: Andromeda, fans have wondered where the lauded sci-fi series will go next. The answer, according to people familiar with the studio, is nowhere—at least for the time being. BioWare has put Mass Effect on hiatus and turned Andromeda’s developer, BioWare Montreal, into a support studio, according to four sources close to the company.
That doesn’t mean there will never be another Mass Effect game, of course. It’s unlikely that BioWare will kill the popular sci-fi franchise. But BioWare is letting Mass Effect sit for a while rather than putting staff on Andromeda’s follow-up right away, those sources said.
Last month, a number of BioWare Montreal employees were transferred to the studio EA Motive, also based in Montreal, to work on Star Wars Battlefront II. Those remaining at BioWare Montreal will help support BioWare’s other games including the new intellectual property, code-named Dylan, which we expect the company to announce at E3. BioWare Montreal will also continue to patch and support Andromeda’s multiplayer.
BioWare’s main studio in Edmonton is heading up Dylan, while BioWare’s other studio, in Austin, is also helping out with that game.
When reached for comment, publisher Electronic Arts sent over the following statement, attributed to BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy:
"Our teams at BioWare and across EA put in tremendous effort bringing Mass Effect Andromeda to players around the world. Even as BioWare continues to focus on the Mass Effect Andromeda community and live service, we are constantly looking at how we’re prepared for the next experiences we will create.
The teams in EA Worldwide Studios are packed with talent, and more than ever, we are driving collaboration between studios on key projects.
With our BioWare and Motive teams sharing studio space in Montreal, we have BioWare team members joining Motive projects that are underway. We’re also ramping up teams on other BioWare projects in development.
There will be much more to come from BioWare in the years ahead."

Bioware ends Single-Player patches and content for Mass Effect Andromeda
《质量效应:仙女座》1.10版本后单人模式停止更新 未来将更新多人模式
Since the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, we’ve worked hard to address feedback from our community. From improving animations to expanding customization options, we looked to respond to your concerns, and build on what you loved.
With each patch, you let us know we were heading in the right direction, and we're grateful to everyone who joined us on this journey. We're proud of what we created, and we hope you enjoyed it as well.
Early in development, we decided to focus Mass Effect: Andromeda’s story on the Pathfinder, the exploration of the Andromeda galaxy, and the conflict with the Archon. The game was designed to further expand on the Pathfinder’s journey through this new galaxy with story-based APEX multiplayer missions and we will continue to tell stories in the Andromeda Galaxy through our upcoming comics and novels, including the fate of the quarian ark.
Our last update, 1.10, was the final update for Mass Effect: Andromeda. There are no planned future patches for single-player or in-game story content.
In the coming weeks, our multiplayer team will provide details of their ongoing support and upcoming content, including new multiplayer missions, character kits, and what’s in store for N7 Day.
We appreciate all the millions of people who came with us to the Andromeda galaxy. We hope to see you again in the Mass Effect universe.
