我们星烁学院是新加坡教育部注册的学校，在裕廊东。

大多数学生是工作人士。

这里有很多来自大马的男孩儿、女孩儿。大家通常选择晚上的课程。

有的同学下了课才回新山。星期六、日也有课，但大都是住的比较远的朋友（槟城呀、吉兰丹等）。

新山的朋友通常不会在周末来上课的。终于可以在家休息了！当然要彻底放松一下咯！可是有的新山朋友告诉我，

即使在家里，他也有学英文哦。他会复习学过的课程，也挤时间预习下个礼拜的课程呢！

真的让我很佩服！ 白天工作一天，已经很辛苦了！但是坚持来学英语。



我们的英语课程是循环上课，可以随时加入的。


英语课程包括：英语会话课(English Conversation)、英语文法课(English Grammar)、英语词汇课(English Vocabulary)、LCCI商务英语(LCCI English for Business)、雅思考前预备班( IELTS)。

英语会话班（English Conversation)

开课日期:3月26日

时间:星期四晚8:30pm~10pm

全英文授课,适合有一定的英语基础的同学。


英语文法课(English Grammar)
在这个英语语法课程里我们可以学习句子的时态(如 present perfect, past simple, present continuous e.g.);被动态(passive);介词的使用(prepositions) 等。分初级和中级，初级班的英语老师用华语解释；中级班的老师全英语授课。

课程时间：星期一下午2点；星期二晚8：30;星期三晚上8：30，星期天上午11：30 。

我们学校是新加坡教育部注册的学校，我们的学生基本上工作人士，早上，下午，晚上，星期六、日也有课。
（我们休息星期五）
上课时间：
平时：
早班：10am ~11:30am; 11:30am ~ 1pm.
    下午班：1:30pm ~3pm; 3pm ~4:30pm.
         晚上的上课时间：7pm ~8:30pm, 8:30pm ~10pm.
             星期六：4pm ~5:30pm; 5:30pm ~7pm; 7pm ~8:30pm.
                 星期日：10am ~11:30am; 11:30am ~1pm; 2pm ~3:30pm, 4pm ~5:30pm.

因为大家是工作人士，所以很多同学选择一个星期来2天，当然也有的同学想快一点学会，所以，来3天的也有。

学费：
$488 , 3 个月，每星期2次。20节课；

马来西亚还是半桶水，比较少新加坡就真的比较多说英文的机会

最近看到了个小故事，挺萌的，给大家分享一下
Will you marry me?
I was substitute teaching at the time and my hand was asked in marriage by a beautiful bright eyed 5 year old boy…
I kneeled down and asked him if maybe just maybe I was too old for him…
He motioned no with his head and literally love was dripping from his eyes …
I told him that it might be better to wait until tomorrow for my answer. ( I was really hoping he'd forget… )
The next day he comes up to me and asks…
Is it ok if we don't get married anymore?
Immensely relieved, I smiled and said of course it was ok but then I got curious.
I asked: " Why do you not want to marry me anymore?"

俗话说多一个朋友多一条路，人脉广了好办事儿。你知道在英语里面怎么说“人脉”，怎么表达“人脉广”吗？

人脉对应的单词是connection。

如果要表达“我人脉很广”，就可以这么说：I have a lot of connections.

除此之外，还有一种表达方式：well-connected。I have a lot of connections.= I'm well-connected.

来看下柯林斯词典对这个词的英文解释：Someone who is well-connected has important or influential relatives or friends.也就是说有非常厉害的亲戚或者朋友，有非常优越的社会关系。那就是人脉很广啦。

比如：He's not universally loved in Hollywood but they are well-connected.他在好莱坞并不普遍受人爱戴，但他人脉很广（有着良好的社会关系）。

有人说，找工作时，What really counts is not what you know, but who you know（重要的不是你是谁，而是你认识谁）。你同意吗？

班门弄斧.teach fish to swim/teach a dog to chase rabbits
教鱼游泳，教狗追兔子…没搞错吧，它们可都是行家，怎么还用得着去教！所以呢，这两个习语就表示在行家面前卖弄，或者妄想拿自己并不精通的东西去教别人。也就是我们汉语里面所说的“班门弄斧”。
例如：
I don’t want to teach fish to swim before you, the "Olympic expert".在你这个“奥运通”面前，我可不敢卖弄。

cat and dog life 争吵不休的生活

想想《加菲猫》里面的剧情，要是让猫和狗在一起，麻烦可真是少不了。为了争得主人的宠爱或者食物，它们可能会打得不可开交；也可能就是

相互看着不顺眼就会打架，反正肯定没有片刻安宁。所以，cat and dog life指的就是“争吵不休的生活”。例如:

The husband and his wife are always quarrelling, and they are leading a cat and dog life.

这对夫妇老是吵个不停，整天都没有安生日子过。

“要是你的话能相信，猪都能飞上天了！——在汉语里我们说猪能飞上天，是表示不可能的事情。其实，在英语里面也有类似的表达：when pigs fly。例如：
She will do that for you only when pigs fly! 要她为你做那事是决不可能的。

Canary是金丝雀，the cat that ate the canary 吃了金丝雀的猫——我们经常看到猫咪对着鸟笼里的鸟儿垂涎欲滴，可惜它打不开鸟类。要是能吃到金丝雀那它肯定就心满意足了！所以，Look like the cat that ate the canary这个俗语是用来形容一个人看起来非常满足。例如：
I think Mister Green in Personnel just got that promotion he's been wanting so much. I saw him walk out of the boss's office like the cat that just ate the canary. 人事处那个格林先生好像如愿以偿地升了一级。我看见他从老板的办公室出来，一副心满意足的样子。
